The location is prime, just a block from Powell's Books and great restaurants. Parking was a hassle; I struggled to find a spot nearby.

Prime location near Powell's and lots of dining options. Room was comfortable but very noisy from the street. Appreciated the daily wine reception and cookies for a nice touch.

The rooms are spacious with a comfy kitchenette that makes meal prep easy. The staff is super friendly and attentive, always ready to help.

It wasn't exactly bargain-priced, but it’s totally fair for what you get.

This charming hotel puts you just a few steps away from must-visit spots like Powell's Books and Voodoo Donuts, making it super easy to stroll through the city and enjoy delicious food, local cafés, and unique shops; additionally, you're within walking distance to the Portland Art Museum and the international Rose Test Garden, both offering beautiful sights that can’t be missed. The rooms were functional and added a cozy feel to our stay, but parking can be a bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle.

I can't believe how noisy it was! My room was right by the elevators, so I heard them opening and closing constantly. Plus, the window faced the entrance, letting in all the street noise and random shouting at night. Total nightmare!

The rooftop cafe on Saturdays is a hidden gem. The secured garage offers great rates and the staff are super friendly and welcoming.

The room cleanliness left a bit to be desired.

The Mark Spencer Hotel offers a fantastic base for exploring Portland. The room was spacious and comfortable, perfect for cooking and enjoying leftovers. The front-desk staff provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants, making our stay even more enjoyable. Just a short walk to Powell's bookstore!

Lovely hotel with original charm, cozy rooms, and a central location. The shower was amazing, reminiscent of how hotels used to be—clean and quiet. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, even checking in on potential noise from a nearby festival. the parking garage was tight and a bit intimidating. Minor issues with the drains and pillows, plus a lackluster café experience, but breakfast was hot and delicious. A quaint stay in a nostalgic setting—definitely a place to return to. Just remember to scan your key at night!

Walking distance to the Portland Rose Festival and the Oregon Zoo made our trip wild! The pet-friendly setup was paw-some for our furry friend. The kitchen helped us munch on leftovers after hitting the town.

Wish there was a party area with loud music for young vibes to kick it all night long! .

The kids were thrilled to see the friendly animals up close, and the zoo's historic charm added a unique touch to our experience in Portland. Exploring the zoo grounds together was a perfect way to spend quality time as a family.

My wife says that more family-friendly activities within the hotel would enhance the overall stay.

Great location and excellent parking rate. The rooms are spacious enough, with a king-sized bed that cradles you into sleep. Fluffy pillows and comfortable bedding enhance the experience. noise isolation leaves much to be desired. Thin walls allowed rowdy guests to disrupt precious sleep. Cleanliness standards fell short; stained carpets and leftover crumbs were disheartening. The staff, though friendly and accommodating, struggled with efficiency, and service could improve. Breakfast options have returned, and while they aren't complimentary, the reasonable prices make a visit worthwhile. A rooftop café on Saturdays piques curiosity for future stays. This establishment has potential, yet it needs to address obvious issues for a truly restful experience.

Nice size bathroom and nice shower. Beautiful old building; nice remodel for a boutique hotel. Beds very comfortable. The hotel was close to everything we needed. We liked the bathroom mirror with the built-in lights.

No coffee maker in room. Parking garage is small.

The location was perfect, close to everything from museums to fantastic restaurants. The hotel's mix of modern decor and historic charm was fabulous. Strolling through the Rhododendron Garden was a delightful experience.

I enjoyed the lovely scent that lingered in the elevator.

The room was spacious and well-appointed, featuring a fridge and microwave, which added convenience. A pullout couch provided extra flexibility for our family stay. the bathroom lacked a fan, leading to a mildew smell after showers. The bed was soft, which may not suit everyone's preference. Noise from trams and celebrations outside seeped in, though most was muffled with windows closed. Parking across the street was handy, but the outdoor lot could be a concern. The fridge needed defrosting and lacked cutlery and crockery. comfort level was decent, with room for improvement in amenities.

During my visit to The Mark Spencer, I was pleased with the ironing facilities available in the room. It was convenient to have the option to touch up my clothes when needed. The heating and air conditioning worked well, ensuring a comfortable temperature throughout my stay. I appreciated the presence of tea and coffee facilities in the room. It was nice to be able to enjoy a hot beverage at my convenience. I found the sitting area to be a bit cramped and would have preferred more comfortable furniture. While there wasn't garden furniture in my room, the free toiletries provided were a nice touch. It added a bit of luxury to the stay. The lack of cookware or kitchen utensils was a downside for me as I like to have the option to prepare small meals or snacks. The room did feature an AM/FM alarm clock and a flat-screen TV, which enhanced the overall experience. The carpeted floors were cozy but could have benefited from a more thorough cleaning. I didn't utilize room service during my stay, but the option was available, which is always a plus. the lack of dry cleaning or laundry services on-site was a drawback. I did not receive a welcome drink upon arrival, and I would have appreciated that gesture. I did not see any specific pet amenities available during my stay. my experience at The Mark Spencer had its positives and negatives.

Upgraded to a spacious corner room with a cool sitting area and kitchenette. The bathroom was super fancy and the shower was like a personal waterfall , so relaxing after a day of exploring! And the location was spot, on, right in the heart of it all.

The room wasn't as clean as I had hoped , found a random bracelet on the floor, yikes! Plus, there was a bit of a mix, up.

Felt like in a fairy, no complaints whatsoever.

The location of Mark Spencer was absolutely perfect for exploring the city. However, the noise from the housekeeping and the early morning disturbance didn't make for a restful stay. Overall I'll recommend this hotel.

From check-in to check-out, our experience at this centrally located hotel was exceptional. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making our stay extra special for my light sleeper boss's retirement. The comfortable bedding and quiet rooms ensured a good night's sleep. The convenient amenities like the kitchenette and free Wi-Fi were a bonus. We enjoyed the daily wine reception and the friendly atmosphere created by the staff. The hotel's location near Powell's bookstore and food trucks made exploring the city a breeze.

Limited parking options were a slight inconvenience.
